The Challenge:

A global leadership team within the organization’s Capital Markets division was experiencing communication and collaboration challenges across its three regional hubs.

Time zone differences, varied working styles, and limited opportunities for in-person connection were affecting cohesion and alignment. Leaders wanted to create a more unified team culture, strengthen trust, and improve collective performance across their global responsibilities.

Energising a Global Team to Collaborate and Deliver Together

Our Solution:

Inspirational Group designed and delivered a high-energy, one-day programme at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, a location chosen for its strong association with excellence, discipline, and leadership.

The day blended practical challenge with reflection, combining lessons from military best practice with team psychology and workplace application. Participants experienced the demands of teamwork under pressure, explored leadership models, and established new norms for collaboration across regions.

Module 1: Team Dynamics and Communication

The day began with insights into military approaches to teamwork, communication, and leadership under pressure. Participants took part in a series of physically and mentally challenging activities, including command tasks and an assault course, to test coordination, trust, and decision-making in real time.

Module 2: Translating Learning into Practice

In the afternoon, participants explored key theoretical frameworks such as Tuckman’s Team Development stages and Woodcock’s Team Building Blocks. Facilitators led structured discussions to connect these models to the group’s real-world challenges, translating insight into practical ways of working.

Module 3: Reflection and Commitment

Freed from workplace constraints, the team engaged in open conversations about what was and was not working, surfacing barriers and agreeing on new ways to collaborate. The day concluded with an inspiring keynote from a senior military commander on high-performing teams, followed by a formal Sandhurst dinner to deepen connection and reflect on shared learning.

Impact:

The programme re-energised a global leadership team and transformed the quality of collaboration across regions. Participants left with renewed clarity, trust, and respect for one another’s strengths, leading to more effective communication and teamwork in a demanding business context.

Key Results:

  • Greater trust and collaboration across global offices.
  • Stronger alignment and shared understanding of team purpose.
  • Improved cross-regional communication and cohesion.
  • Clear commitments to sustain high-performing team behaviours.
  • Participants described the experience as “a unique environment” that brought the team together and should be replicated across other parts of the business.
