Scope:

350 students participating in a 2.5-year development journey focused on academic and leadership excellence.

Future Leaders

Outcomes:

Delivery:

Three-month selection process combining digital application review, psychometric testing, and structured interviews.

Programme Type:

Bespoke

Scale:

Over 2,000 applicants assessed annually; 350 selected for the 2.5-year programme.

The Challenge:

A non-profit organisation in Saudi Arabia focused on empowering youth through education, culture, and technology runs an established leadership and development programme helping students gain admission to top global universities.

By 2024, as the organisation prepared to deliver Cohort 27 of the programme, internal teams were fully committed to running other initiatives and required external expertise to manage the high-volume selection process.

Inspirational Group was engaged to design and execute a scalable, transparent, and data-led process that could identify the most promising candidates aligned with the organisation’s values of ambition, leadership, and social impact.

Our Solution:

Building on our experience delivering complex, high-volume selection programmes, Inspirational Group created a bespoke selection framework designed to identify leadership potential alongside academic excellence.

Going beyond the brief, we worked directly with university admissions experts to understand what top-tier universities look for in candidates. These insights shaped every element of the process, ensuring the assessment aligned with global academic standards and leadership criteria.

Using the client’s chosen survey tool, we hosted and managed the full process, integrating essay-based questions and assessment scoring for a holistic view of every applicant.

All assessment results were consolidated into a transparent scoring dashboard to support fair and accurate decision-making.

Stage 1: Application and Screening

Applicants submitted detailed academic records and personal statements. The application form was redesigned by Inspirational Group to ensure relevance and alignment with university expectations. Each submission was reviewed and scored using a transparent rubric reflecting the client’s core values.

Stage 2: Psychometric and Cognitive Assessment

Shortlisted candidates completed tailored logical, abstract, and neuropsychological reasoning tests, providing measurable insight into cognitive ability and potential for academic success.

Stage 3: Structured Interviews

The final stage involved interviews conducted by assessors with university admissions experience. A structured scoring system evaluated leadership potential, communication, and citizenship.

Module 4: Leading Change

The final module consolidated learning through change leadership tools and the delivery of team-led change projects.

Impact:

The refined process enabled the client to manage an exceptionally competitive selection cycle efficiently and fairly. Through data-led scoring and expert moderation, the final cohort represented the highest calibre of applicants while maintaining diversity and inclusion across the board.
