The Challenge:

The client wanted to provide their new graduate intake with a unique and inspiring introduction to the organization. They aimed to bridge the gap between academic study and the workplace while embedding key behaviours for success.

The brief was to design a programme that would channel graduate enthusiasm, introduce the company’s culture and values, and develop practical leadership and followership skills that could deliver an immediate workplace impact.

Graduate Programme: Inspiring Effective Followership

Our Solution:

Inspirational Group partnered with the client to design and deliver The Graduate Experience, a two-day immersive development event held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The venue was chosen for its powerful association with leadership, teamwork, and excellence.

The programme was designed to inspire and equip new graduates with the mindset and behaviours needed to thrive. Through experiential challenges, workshops, and reflection, participants explored what it means to be an effective follower — someone who contributes, supports, and adds value within a team.

The programme featured:

Impact and Reputation

Graduates explored how behaviours and actions influence perception, trust, and credibility. Through group discussion and activity, they learned how personal accountability shapes reputation and professional relationships.

Personality Differences

Using personality tools and practical exercises, participants developed self-awareness and adaptability. They learned to recognise different working styles and apply this understanding to improve collaboration and team performance.

Communication Styles

Scenario-based practice helped graduates build flexible communication skills to engage confidently with peers, colleagues, and senior stakeholders. This included constructive feedback, active listening, and influencing techniques.

Impact:

The Graduate Experience became a core part of the organisation’s induction journey. The programme achieved exceptional engagement levels and exceeded Kirkpatrick evaluation targets, demonstrating both personal and organisational impact.

Participants left with greater self-awareness, improved communication skills, and a clearer understanding of how to contribute to team success. Beyond individual growth, the programme fostered strong networks across the graduate cohort, laying the foundations for a culture of collaboration and mutual support.

  • Permanent inclusion of The Graduate Experience in the organisation’s graduate curriculum.
  • Additional enhancements introduced, including a dedicated Personal Branding day.
  • Kirkpatrick scores exceeded targets
  • Graduates reported increased clarity about their role and contribution.
  • Follow-on partnership to design a three-day Commercial and Leadership Programme for graduates completing the core scheme.
