Maggie Joao

Maggie João MCC is an internationally experienced executive coach and consultant based in Portugal. With a professional journey that began in engineering and process improvement, Maggie brings over two decades of global experience and cultural fluency to her coaching—having lived and worked in 12 countries across a range of industries.

She coaches and consults in English, Portuguese (her native language), and Spanish. Maggie has led projects for multinational corporations in automotive, food, and service sectors, as well as for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Today, she applies her structured, pragmatic mindset to executive coaching, leadership development, and organisational transformation.

Maggie is the only certified Professional Medical Coach (PMC) currently operating in Portugal, integrating relational psychology and systems thinking into her work. She specialises in leading multinational teams, communication, coaching skills, and strategic development, and has facilitated leadership programmes for the private sector, the UN, and humanitarian organisations.

Her portfolio includes 1:1 leadership coaching, team and group coaching, employee engagement programmes, and process and culture improvement projects. She is also a lecturer in Relational Management at postgraduate level, teaching professionals in engineering and management fields.

Maggie is a Master Certified Coach (ICF), Senior Practitioner with the EMCC, and holds postgraduate degrees in both Management of Production and Industrial Engineering. She is also an active contributor to the coaching field, having authored 14 books in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and volunteered in several professional associations, including as President of ICF Portugal.
