He brings extensive experience across leadership development, coaching, performance improvement, innovation, organisational design and business model review, helping clients turn ambition into practical, sustainable results.
A lifelong adventurer with a strong connection to the natural world, Simon’s perspective has been shaped by careers in both the military and the business world. As a former Royal Navy Officer, he was a founder member of the UK Armed Forces Psychological Operations Unit, working to create behavioural change in highly complex and challenging environments. This experience laid the foundations for his interest in influence, decision making and performance under pressure.
In his business career, Simon has led major transformation programmes across a range of sectors. He played a key role in an organisation wide transformation at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, focused on improving sustainability, leadership capability and organisational performance. He has also overseen the successful introduction of a coaching based organisational design and circular business model within a manufacturing company, embedding new ways of working that aligned performance with long term value.
Simon has acted as interim CEO in two growing businesses, including successfully leading one through the uncertainty and disruption of the pandemic. These roles strengthened his ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on leadership, particularly in periods of rapid change.
Alongside his practical experience, Simon brings strong professional and academic grounding. He is a Master Practitioner in NLP and Attitude Change Technology and a qualified leadership coach. He also holds qualifications in enterprise risk, project management and transformation programme management, and is a Fellow of both the Institute for Leadership and the Association for Coaching.
Simon’s academic background includes a degree in Systems Science and Business, a Master’s with Distinction in Education, Leadership and Change, and postgraduate study in Leadership for Sustainability. This combination of systems thinking, coaching and leadership enables him to support organisations in creating change that is not only effective, but lasting.
Simon is passionate about improving people performance through innovation and diversity. At IG, he brings a thoughtful, energetic and values led approach, supporting leaders and organisations to navigate complexity and build futures they are proud of.
