Stephen Bennett

Stephen founded Inspirational Development Group in 2000, driven by a desire to share his passion for leadership development and to help organisations move beyond technical competence towards meaningful, sustainable performance. That founding belief continues to shape IG today.

His career began as a Chartered Accountant, where his talent for teaching and leadership quickly became evident. Stephen rose through the ranks to become a postgraduate level lecturer and later Director of Studies at Deloitte Haskins and Sells. His ability to combine technical rigour with clarity and humanity soon led to senior leadership roles, including Assistant Managing Partner and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the UK and Europe.

In 1990, Stephen stepped into the role of Chairman and CEO of a second tier market company. Within two years, he led the organisation to a full listing on the London Stock Exchange. The business was later sold to a major US corporation that is now owned by Warren Buffett, marking a significant milestone in his executive career.

Alongside his executive roles, Stephen has served as a non executive director on several boards and is currently Non Executive Chairman of Fortius Group, one of the UK’s leading private orthopaedic clinic groups. He brings deep experience in governance, strategy and long term value creation.

Stephen is also an accomplished public speaker and published author in the field of finance. He has written for numerous publications around the world and is known for his ability to translate complex ideas into practical insight. Today, he combines his experience as a leader, educator and finance expert to support clients in navigating complexity and building organisations that prosper.
